The sun was setting over the rugged ridges of Mt Sonder on the Larapinta Trail, turning the desert into a canvas of pinks, purple, and deep reds like it only does in central Australia. Dust clung to everything,, the air was dry and cooling quickly, my legs ached from days of hiking, but my mind was the clearest it had been in years. There’s something about being deep in nature—away from screens, schedules, and city noise—that strips life back to what really matters.

Hiking the Larapinta Trail end to end was more than just a physical challenge. It was a reminder of why I love the outdoors—the freedom, the quiet, the connection to something bigger than myself. And somewhere along the way, admiring the resilience of the GhostGums clinging for dear life in a harsh world , and the vast open skies, the idea for GhostGum Tees was born.
